Essential oils are widely popular for their many therapeutic properties and are one of the best natural alternatives for skin, hair and body care. Below we have listed some easy to follow essential oils recipes for skin, hair and body care.
Mix a tablespoon of coconut oil, a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar, 3 tablespoons of raw honey and 20 drops of tea tree essential oil. Apply this homemade face wash, leave it on for a minute, and then rinse it off with water to get a clear skin by removing all acne-prone spots.
Alternatively, you can use 5 drops of tea tree oil in 2 teaspoons of honey or blend cedarwood oil with a small amount of witch hazel and apply the mixture on acne-prone skin.
Make an aromatic body spray by mixing 4 ounces of water with 5-10 drops of essential oil of your choice like orange, lavender, etc.
Foot massage is one of the most effective ways to receive therapeutic benefits of essential oils. Dilute essential oils such as peppermint oil, lemongrass, rosemary, lavender, tea tree or geranium with a carrier oil like coconut oil, jojoba oil or sweet almond oil and then massage your feet slowly with the blend.
Adding rosemary oil to an organic shampoo will naturally increase the volume of your hair and make it thicker. Alternatively, dilute rosemary oil with olive or coconut oil, and apply it to your scalp. Leave it in for at least 10 minutes before washing it out with shampoo. Do this twice per week for best results.
You may also use a blend of 30 drops of each of rosemary, sage, cedarwood oils with 15ml of each of jojoba and grapeseed oils. Apply it to your scalp and leave it in for as long as possible before washing.
If you have chapped lips, try combining 2-3 drops of lavender oil with beeswax and coconut oil as a natural healing balm for your lips.
Mix 5 tablespoons of coconut oil or any carrier oil of your choice with 10 drops of chamomile essential oil. Put this mixture on sunburns to soothe the skin.
In order to make your own toothpaste at home, you need to liquefy 4 tablespoons of coconut oil first by keeping its container in hot water. This may take around 15 minutes, depending on the room temperature. Then add to it 20 drops of peppermint, 20 drops of clove or cinnamon oil, 1 tablespoon of xylitol powder, 2-4 tablespoons of baking soda, and stir well. Brush your teeth with this homemade toothpaste to benefit from its antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties.
Dab a little tea tree oil on the boil several times a day to make it heal fast.
To reduce wrinkles and fine lines, add a drop of myrrh essential oil to your face lotion before using it.
After boiling a tablespoon of dried rosemary, a tablespoon of dried sage, and a teaspoon of dried ginger powder together in a large saucepan with water, remove the saucepan from the heat, steep for 10 minutes, and strain. Add 1 tablespoon baking soda, 10 drops of tea tree essential oil, and a tablespoon of Epsom salts to it and mix well. Pour this mixture into a large basin for your feet and soak them for 15 minutes after adding water and small ice cubes. Use a fragrant foot powder after drying your feet.
If you have nails with fungal infections, simply spread a mixture of coconut oil with oregano essential oil over your nails.
Pour 2-3 drops of peppermint oil into your regular shampoo or hair conditioner to nourish your hair and promote hair growth.
Add 10-15 drops of cinnamon essential oil to a combination of 1 part coconut oil, 1 part apple cider vinegar, and 3 parts honey.
Alternatively, you can mix 5 drops of lavender, patchouli, and grapefruit oils with ¼ cup cornmeal and ¼ cup yoghurt. Use this blend as a natural face wash, and rinse it off with water after leaving it for a minute or two.
In case you suffer from toothache or sore gums, using clove oil can relieve your pain. Briefly dip a cotton ball, cotton swab, or a piece of tissue into a few drops of clove essential oil, and gently wipe the sore gums with it. Do not swallow the oil in any case. For best essential oils uses, dilute the clove oil with coconut oil before dipping the tissue into it.
Add a few drops of cedarwood oil to hair conditioner. As an alternative, mix 3 tablespoons of jojoba oil with 5 drops each of lavender and rosemary. Leave the mixture on your scalp for 5-10 minutes before you rinse it off with water.
Add 1-3 drops of peppermint or spearmint or cinnamon essential oil in a 5-10ml water and store in a water spray bottle. Use as and when required.
Combine sandalwood oil with a thick foot cream and use it to boost your pedicure by moisturizing your feet and doing away with dead skin
Apply 2-3 drops of frankincense oil diluted with a carrier oil over age spots. Use thrice daily.
After icing a wound or bruise, apply a blend of cypress oil and coconut oil to it for calming the bruise and speeding up the healing process. Or soak a hot compress with 4 ounces / 120 ml of hot water and 5 drops of lavender and frankincense oils and then apply to the bruised area.
For treating varicose veins, add 1 ounce each of coconut oil and shea butter to 30 drops of cypress essential oil. Instead of heating up the shea butter, use a blender to mix the butter and the oils together.
Add 10 drops of lemongrass essential oil, lemon, or eucalyptus to a large bowl of warm water and keep your aching feet in this bath.
Alternatively, pouring 10 drops of peppermint into a warm foot bath with 1 tablespoon of Epsom salt also relieves sore feet.
Massage the scalp with a blend of 2 ounces of carrier oil with 10 drops each of lime, rosemary, and ylang-ylang. Use it twice or thrice a week to help with oily hair.
Make your own body scrub by mixing Epsom salt with 10 drops of lemongrass oil. Make sure to saturate the salt with enough coconut oil. Rub this paste all over your face and body and then wash it off after scrubbing.
Use a cotton swab to apply a tablespoon of witch hazel with a few drops of tea tree oil to the affected area thrice a day. If a rash develops, do not use it further.
Tone your skin with a mixture of witch hazel and lemongrass by applying it to the face. This will enhance the look and feel of your skin.
To make your teeth whitener, rub over your teeth a paste made of coconut oil, fresh strawberries, and lemon essential oil. Wait for 2 minutes before rinsing.
5 drops of grapefruit oil can be stirred into 2 teaspoons of coconut oil and then applied to body parts with problems caused by cellulite. This mixture should be used every night before going to bed.
Apply a blend of 2 drops of unscented carrier oil and 2 drops of tea tree oil to the blistered skin at least 5 times a day.
Combine coconut oil with 5 drops each of myrrh, grapefruit, and frankincense essential oils and apply gently over stretch marks.
Add a few drops of lime essential oil to a blend of equal amounts of brown sugar and olive oil. Rub this sugar scrub over your hands to soften them.
Mix 40 drops of your favorite essential oil like lime or lavender with ½ cup beeswax or baking soda and ½ cup coconut oil and apply it under your arms.

Add 3 drops of lavender oil to 2 tablespoons of coconut oil and apply to the feet at night. Wear socks after applying it so that the effects of the blend on the feet cracks can be preserved.
Make your own cream to treat eczema or psoriasis by combining shea butter with not more than 2 or 3 drops of lavender essential oil.
Mix 2-3 drops of lavender oil with aloe vera gel to heal burns.
Stir together a few drops of rosemary oil, 1 teaspoon honey, 1 teaspoon of coconut oil and an egg. Use this blend to coat your hair and leave it on for an hour. Then wash it off and let your hair dry.
Dab a mixture of an equal number of drops of oregano essential oil and olive oil onto rosacea-prone skin every night. Adding rose oil to body lotion also helps to reduce redness of the skin and heals broken blood capillaries.
In a sterilized glass jar, combine 10 drops of tea tree oil with ¼ cup canola oil and shake the jar well. Then dip a cotton ball into this mixture and sweep it over your face for removing makeup. Wash your face with warm water.
Combine 1 drop of benzoin essential oil, 2 drops of geranium, 5 drops of lemon and 10 drops of sandalwood oil. Add 4 drops of this best-smelling essential oils blend to 1 liter of water at a time, and then douse the super-heated rocks in the sauna with this fragranced water.
To give your bath a boost, pour a small bowl of milk with a few drops of ginger essential oil into a warm bath. Taking a soak in the tub with this blend is going to relieve your sore muscles.
